My Book Is LIVE!
Popping In Reader,
I have been sitting on this news for a while, and I finally get to share it with you.
A Place for Me, my first children’s book, is officially real.
My author copies arrived on my doorstep this week, and I am still not over holding something I wrote in my own two hands.
Here’s the story. It follows a little girl named Jordan on the hardest kind of morning, the first one, in a new classroom, feeling too loud, too bright, too much. Her teacher, Miss Reese, doesn’t try to fix her. She just makes space for her.
That’s the whole idea the book is built around. Belonging isn’t something that happens by accident in a classroom, it’s something a teacher decides to do on purpose.
Twenty years in the classroom, and years spent thinking about literacy instruction and what actually makes kids feel safe enough to learn, led me here. This book is that work turned into a story kids can hold, and a tool teachers can use to open real conversations about who belongs and how we show it.
A Place for Me releases September 2, and it’s available for preorder right now.
If you’re a teacher, librarian, or school leader, I’m also booking author visits and virtual read-alouds for K-4 classrooms this fall, along with a PD session on belonging and MTSS strategies if your team wants to go deeper.

Thank you for being here through every step of this. This community has cheered me on since this was just an idea, and now it’s a real book with your name written all over it, even if you don’t see it on the page.
With so much gratitude,
See You In The Next Chapter!
